This dynamic group of ladies, also known as the "Counselling Chicks," are all part of a team that coordinates Student Services at Strathmore High School. Student Services provides the following:

course and class selections and timetabling

career counselling including preparation for application to post-secondary institutions

personal counselling (in conjunction with other counselling agencies)

Course Selections and Timetables

Over the past several weeks all of our current grade 10 and 11 students have picked their courses for the 2011-12 school year. The students coming from Grade 9 have done their course selections as well. We are now in the midst of creating the timetable for next year. Once this is complete, each student will receive their schedule. We anticipate that the current Grade 10 and 11 students will get their 2011-12 schedule in the second week of June. If a student needs to make some changes to that schedule, this can be done during the Exam Week. All courses changes must be completed by June 30!!

Grade 9 Student and Parent Meetings

We have received all of the course selection forms from the incoming Grade 9 students. After the timetable has been set, the guidance counsellors will begin meeting with all the grade 9's and their parents. These meetings will be held between June 3 and 9th. Starting May 2nd, parents of current Grade 9 students can make appointments for the week of June 3 - 9th, by phoning the main office at 403-934-3135. At this meeting, the student's timetable will be given to them, and explained to both the parents and the students. We will also be able to make any timetable changes that need to be made at this time. This is an important meeting and we encourage all parents to attend!
