Graduation Gown

Information Regarding Gowns and Ribbons

Gowns:

Blue

Ribbons:

White ‘V’ with red stripe

Please make sure they fit properly. If it doesn’t then make an appointment with me, Ms. E. (The length should come to about mid-calf.) Please don’t swap gowns unless I (Mrs. E) said it was okay. Please check and let me know immediately if something is wrong with your gown or else you may be invoiced for damage you didn’t do.

Gowns and ribbons can be drycleaned but cannot be washed or altered in any way.

  • To iron gowns:
    • Iron on the wrong side with a steam iron or with a press cloth
    • Put in the dryer with a damp cloth and a fleecy sheet for about 5 minutes and immediately hang on a hanger.
  • To iron ribbons:
    • Iron on the wrong side with a dry iron. Do NOT use steam or a wet cloth.
    • Do NOT put the ribbon in the dryer.

What to Wear

Guys

A white shirt and tie or your tux shirt and tie.

Dress pants; dark socks; dress shoes (black western jeans and boots are okay)

NO white socks, sandals, runners or hats

Girls

A white shirt with/without a collar

Short skirt/walking shorts (whatever you choose must not show below the hem of the gown)

Dress sandals/shoes (know how to walk downstairs in them)

NO White socks/hose, sport sandals, runners, headgear


Recognition Day

Before the ceremony please meet in the cafeteria with your gown and ribbon on. (Have your ribbon pinned inconspicuously at the shoulders to keep it secure. Use the ones I gave you!) DO NOT BE LATE!!!!!

After the ceremony please return the gowns and ribbons pinned on a hanger immediately following the group photo to Room 108.
